“International Conference on Special Functions & Applications” (ICSFA-2025) – XXIV Annual meeting of Society for Special Functions & their Applications (SSFA) and a Symposium on “Geometric Function Theory and Applications” will be held under the auspices of the Department of Mathematics, Ramanujan School of Mathematical Sciences, Pondicherry University (A Central University under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India), Puducherry, India during 20^th – 22^nd November 2025. The three days conference aims to bring together the researchers working in the area of Special Functions and applications of special functions, Number theory, q-series and continued fractions and its generalizations, Orthogonal polynomials, Lie theoretic approach to Special function, Ramanujan works, Fractional calculus, Combinatorics, Geometric function theory and their applications for interaction and exchange of ideas. In addition, it will inspire young researchers to pursue research in this important branch of Mathematical sciences. A good number of Indian and foreign mathematicians are expected to participate in the Conference. The main objective of ICSFA-2025 is to bring mathematicians from various parts of the world to interact with each other and to provide an excellent international platform to inculcate research interest among young researchers on recent topics of the Mathematical Analysis where they can present their research/scientific work, which may give rise to international collaborations among each other. The Academic program of the conference will consist of RP Agarwal Memorial Lecture,  Plenary talks, Invited talks, Contributed talks, Short talks and Paper Presentations covering a wide range of topics including Special Functions, Hypergeometric function and their generalizations, Number theory, q-series and continued fractions and its generalizations, Orthogonal polynomials, Lie theoretic approach to Special function, Ramanujan works, Fractional calculus, Combinatorics, Geometric function theory, applications of special functions to Statistics, Physical sciences and Engineering.

About Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics was established in 1986 and it aims to prepare students who are oriented towards research and teaching in advanced areas of Mathematics. The department offers B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes in Mathematics.  In addition, a 5-year integrated M.Sc. programme in Mathematics is also running.  Good computing and internet facilities are available for academic activities. The Department was supported for the development of infrastructure by the DST–ANRF-FIST project for 1 Crore 12 lakhs for the block year 2024 -29. Department of Science and Technology (DST). Government of India under FIST programme during 2009-14 and University Grants Commissions (UGC) - Special Assistance Programme (SAP) - DRS-I level during 2009-14, University Grants Commission - Special Assistance Programme (SAP) - DRS-II level for enriching Research Support during 2015-20. The National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) gives support for the purchase of Library books related to Mathematics. Our department Faculty members are holding National and International Projects and active Foreign Collaboration on Academics & Research under MoU with foreign institutes.
